As of 3 June 2020, the Safer Communities Fund Round 5 Infrastructure grants program is progressing and decisions on the outcomes of applications are imminent. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application. Safer Communities Fund – Round 5 – Northern Territory Infrastructure Grants Safer Communities Fund – Round 5 – Northern Territory Infrastructure Grants provides not for profit organisations and local government agencies in the Northern Territory with grants of up to $1 million for infrastructure and environmental design activities to reduce crime, violence, anti-social behaviour and/or other security risks and improve community safety and wellbeing in the Northern Territory. An incorporated not for profit organisation an Australian local government agency or body as defined in appendix A of the Grant opportunity guidelines. Overview The objective of this grant opportunity is to reduce crime, violence, anti-social behaviour and/or other security risks and improve community safety and wellbeing in the Northern Territory. Eligible activities can include the following: Infrastructure activities, such as installing: fixed or mobile CCTV cameras security lighting fencing and gates bollards external blast walls and windows security and alarm systems public address systems intercoms and swipe access. Crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) The minimum grant amount is $10,000. The maximum grant amount is $1 million. The grant amount will be up to 100% of eligible project costs. The maximum grant period is 36 months. Projects must be completed by 31 March 2024. To be eligible you must: have an Australian business number (ABN) be located in the Northern Territory and be one of the following entities: an incorporated not for profit organisation an Australian local government agency or body as defined in appendix A of the Grant opportunity guidelines . Open all Close all Not eligible You are not eligible to apply if you are: an individual a partnership an unincorporated association any organisation not included in section 4.1 of the Grant opportunity guidelines a trust (however, an incorporated trustee may apply on behalf of a trust). What are the assessment criteria? To be competitive your application must score at least 50% against each assessment criterion. Assessment criterion 1: The extent that your project will contribute to improved community safety (50 points). Assessment criterion 2: The impact of grant funding on your project (30 points). Assessment criterion 3: Your capacity, capability and resources to deliver the project (20 points). Applying How do you apply? The Safer Communities Fund – Round 5 – Northern Territory Infrastructure Grants are closed to applications. Open all Close all How do we assess your application? We assess your application against the eligibility criteria and then against the assessment criteria. Only eligible applications will proceed to the assessment stage. The amount of detail and supporting evidence you provide in your application should be relative to the project size, complexity and grant amount requested. You should provide evidence to support your answers. The sample application form displays character limits. A Minister in the Home Affairs portfolio will make the final decision. What happens next? If your application is successful, you will receive a written offer. If you are unsuccessful, we will notify you in writing and give you the chance to discuss the outcome with us. Successful applicants must enter into a grant agreement with the Commonwealth. The grant agreement will specify the reporting requirements, payment schedule and milestones necessary to receive payments. Payments will be made by direct credit into a nominated bank account.
