Construction of a state-of-the-art specialist medical centre in Claremont has commenced, with the first sod being turned by local developer ADC, leading dermatology group DermCo, and project builder Georgiou Group. ADC has partnered with DermCo to develop the $71 million specialist medical facility which will be anchored by a new DermCo operated Dermatology Institute for WA and also become home to a private urgent care facility, specialist medical tenancies, a medico-legal practice, pharmacy and pathology collection centre.

The centre will be built on a 2,935sqm site on Shenton Road, adjacent to Claremont railway station and a short walk to Claremont Quarter. It is the final parcel of land in Development WA’s transit-oriented “Claremont on the Park” development, which now comprises more than 750 apartments as well as almost 12,000sqm of commercial space and 2,600sqm of retail.

The specialist medical centre will be built by leading building and civil construction company Georgiou Group and is scheduled to open in mid-2027. ADC Director Rod Hamersley said the Claremont facility was located on a major public transport node and within a well-established residential population with a strong target demographic.

“We are delighted to collaborate with DermCo and Georgiou on this important project, which will provide essential medical services to the community and mark the final chapter of the Claremont on the Park renewal project,”Mr Hamersley said.

DermCo CEO John O’Toole said the new facility paves the way for WA to have its own dedicated Dermatology Institute, like those in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“It will be highly attractive to medical practitioners looking for the next generation of medical facilities to meet their needs and will attract more top-tier providers to the area,” Mr O’Toole said.

“With the addition of an Urgent Care clinic, pharmacy, pathology and other medial specialist services, this is set to become a world-class health amenity for the local community.”
